Gardening / Foxy!

This year in my garden the foxgloves are putting on a stellar display.

imageI planted some peach-coloured foxgloves a few weeks ago, but the pink and white ones are all their (and the bees’) own work. And good work it is too!

imageI was musing on where the foxgloves got their common name, so turned to that most ancient of sources, Wikipedia:

The “folks” of our ancestors were the fairies and nothing is more likely than that the pretty coloured bells of the plant would be designated “folksgloves,” afterwards, “foxglove.”
