At last, my subscription copy of the very first edition of The Simple Things has arrived!
The magazine sets out to: ‘…celebrate the things that matter most. It’s about slowing down, enjoying what you have, making the most of where you live, enjoying the company of friends and family and making simple food for simple gatherings.’
Here are my first impressions:
I love the paper, how it feels, and the colours used – subdued, chic and stylish. It feels like it fits with me.
Just leafing through the pages make you feel like you’re being enveloped by a lovely warm hug.
There are loads of lovely outdoor topics – gardening, exploring local woods, and seed gathering, to name three.
There’s a really delicious-sounding recipe for fudge chocolate and raspberry brownies (see pic above) – does that sound like something you’d want to smell cooking in your kitchen? And then dive into, accompanied by a cuppa? Errr, yes please!
All-in-all, it looks and reads fabulous, and makes me feel like I could do/make/cook everything within its pages. Roll on issue 2!
Have you seen The Simple Things? What do you think?
